Accra edition of Monopoly

Accra Monopoly game to promote tourism and financial literacy.

Accra's own edition of the world’s most popular board game Monopoly has been launched by the Ghanaian ministry for tourism, culture and creative arts.

The game, which is based around the domination of the market through the acquisition of property, is produced by Bestman Games, the African distributor of local city versions of Monopoly.

The ministry said that in addition to promoting the development of Accra's culture and tourism, the game would serve as an "educational platform to promote financial literacy."

The Accra version of Monopoly costs GHC200 and comes with background information on the city's principal tourist sites.
