The Australian High Commission in Ghana is introducing a new visa application procedure for Ghanaians after 8 February, when Accra opens the Australian Visa Application Centre (AVAC).

The new system will provide the growing number of Ghanaian citizens travelling to Australia with a more accessible and convenient way of applying for Australian visas for work, study or holidays.

Ghanaians will now be able to submit their visa applications in person at the AVAC, unlike before when they had to send their applications to the High Commission in Nairobi, in neighbouring Kenya.

People requesting visas will be required to provide fingerprints and facial scans at the centre, which is employing the lastest biometric technology.
