Cape Town International Airport was nominated the best in Africa by the Airports Council International (ACI) in the global Airport Service Quality Awards, on 8 March.

The Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) will accept the award at a ceremony in May at the ACI Asia-Pacific regional assembly in Singapore.

Cape Town International is the second-largest airport in South Africa, after O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, and is the third-largest in Africa.

In 2009 it was voted the best airport in Africa by Skytrax, the British-based international airport and airline rating agency.

The award is the latest in a series of accolades won by Cape Town, which last October scooped the World Design Capital 2014 and whose Table Mountain was recently voted one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature.
