Cape Town street art festival

International Public Art Festival hits Cape Town streets in mid February.

South Africa’s first International Public Art Festival (IPAF), featuring a programme designed to teach, create and showcase street art, takes place in Cape Town from 10-19 February.

The festival is organised by Baz Art, a local non-governmental organisation which uses street art to encourage social cohesion as well as help Cape Town become an international art destination.

For the duration of the festival, whose main activities will be centred on Bree and Longmarket streets in downtown Cape Town, there will be live mural painting, guided tours, exhibitions, debates, school workshops and art classes for children.

Around 40 artists are expected to participate in the festival, for full details see Baz Art website.
