A structure over twice the height of the tallest building in Cape Town is to be built on Buitengracht Street on the foreshore. The R1.2 billion, 150-m-tall skyscraper will contain office floors, a hotel, retail facilities and a multi-storey car park. The development is being overseen by Old Mutual Investment Group Property Investments, which purchased the land from the city council for R89 million in May 2007.
