Flash floods due to persistent heavy rainfall have wreaked havoc in many parts of Lagos, with heavy traffic congestion along main roads and a slump in business for shops and services as customers stay at home.

One of the roads worst affected is the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway linking the Murtala Muhammed international airport with Apapa Quays and Tin Can Island Port, two of the commercial capital
