Cape Town contemporary art fair

Cape Town's first contemporary art fair, Art for Me, is organised in conjunction with Fiera Milano, which opened a company in South Africa last year.

About 40 galleries will show work by 150 South African artists, some of whom are already established and some who are just beginning to make a name for themselves.

Print studios, art book publishers and collectors will take part and there will also be talks, debates and discussions.

Baylon Sandri, director of SMAC, the Stellenbosch Modern and Contemporary Art Gallery which also has a showroom in the Cape Town, believes that along with Dubai, Istanbul and Rio, Cape Town is now one of the new hubs for contemporary art collectors.
