Claudio Filippini On Concert

22 February 2012. The Italian Institute hosts a Piano Jazz concert by the young Italian pianist Claudio Flippini.

Flippini was born in 1982 and has discovered his passion for music at the age of seven. After having studied music at the conservatory, he won a scholarship to the Columbia College Of Music of Chicago at the age of 17 and subsequently, among others, the first prize at the European Competition for piano solo Yamaha Music Foundation Of Europe in 2002.

In the past years he has participated to numerous festivals worldwide such as the Umbria Jazz (Perugia), Sweet Rhythm (New York), Jazz at Pearl's (San Francisco), Casa De La Cultura (Tijuana, Mexico), Pizza Express Jazz Club (London). In 2008 he released Space Trip, a successful concept album for jazz and electronic music. In 2012 he toured around international theatres with the internationally acclaimed Italian singer Mario Biondi.
