Ethnomusicology Symposium at the University of Dar es Salaam

31 July-4 August 2012. The University of Dar es Salaam hosts an international Ethnomusicology Symposium.

The speakers Prof. Gerhard Kubik and Prof. Frank Gunderson from the Department of Fine and Performing Arts will offer academic papers on the African music traditions.

The focus is on the Music Education and the Study of African Music and the African Choral Music Traditions as well as on Ethnomusicology in Africa in general.

The Symposium includes some concerts and performances by local and international musicians, which are free and open to the public.
