Fashion Week Zanzibar

The Fashion Week Zanzibar is a new initiative to celebrate fashion, created in or inspired by Zanzibar, organized in conjunction with the Zanzibar International Film Festival Week. There are a series of well established and emerging artists, who present their latest collections, characterized by brightly coloured traditional patterns of kanga and kitenge from Eastern Africa. The island of Zanzibar off the East African coast, is dominated by the rich Swahili culture, but also influenced by Indian, Arab and European culture thanks to centuries of trade.
