Lagos Jazz Festival

Jazz blows into Lagos megacity is the theme of the Lagos jazz festival.

Performers at Freedom Park include Victor Masondo from South Africa and Nigerians Tee Mac Omatshola Itseli flutist, Bright Gain composer and bass guitar, Daniel and Dotun Bankole, Ara, and rock musician Fadabasi, who recently released a new single Idim Uwem.

Organisers Inspiro Productions hope that the festival will not only become a tourist attraction but also put Lagos on the map along with other major jazz festivals in Cape Town, New Orleans, London and Tokyo.

In Nigeria it will be competing with the Calabar Jazz Festival, which held its second event at Easter this year.
