Out on a limb

A 2 km walk to publicise the difficulties of child amputees and to raise money for artificial limbs for two children.

The walk is from the YMCA building to the Falomo under bridge and back. The event is organised by the Irede Foundation.

UNICEF estimates that some 200 million children are born with a physical disability or become disabled before they are 19. Three quarters of them live in the developing world and most do not have equal access to education and a job.

The Irede Foundation works to bring hope and help to these families. It was founded in 2012 by Chrystal Chigu after the birth of her daughter Irede with a congenital limb formation.
