The annual Sanlam marathon has two main races, the 42.2km or the 10-km, with various other options for the less serious runners on 19 Sept.
It is a flat and fast course and is a qualifying race for the more difficult Old Mutual Two Oceans marathon on 26 March 2016.
The 7,000 runners have seven hours to complete the full course and two hours for the 10-km run.
Last year the men's full marathon was won by Kenyan Willy Kibor in 2h 10m 45s and the women's by Ethiopian Meseret Biro in 2h 30m 57s.
The course, which is through Cape Town's CBD, starts at Green Point A Track.
