9 Oct 2009. The Cape Town-based jazz band Babu, led by the young drummer Kesivan Naidoo, performs live at Alliance Francaise.

Naidoo was born in East London in 1979 and started playing music at a very early age. In 1999, together with a few South Africans, he performed with the Kennedy Centre Jazz Ambassadors, a multinational group from New York City on tour around the world. Recently Naidoo was nominated Standard Bank Young Musician of The Year 2009, an official acknowledgment that aims to promote South African artists. He has performed with many South African jazz musicians including Bheki Mseleku, Miriam Makeba, Zim Ngqawana, Feya Faku, Selelo Selota, Judith Sepumba, Errol Dyers and Hotep Galeta.
