17 March 2006. Ghanaian Afro-pop and jazz musician Rex Omar is in the Ethiopian capital as part of an international tour. Born in Kumasi in the central Ashanti region and winner of the Ghana Music Award for best contemporary song in 2004, Rex Omar has performed in numerous countries including Benin, Britain, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, France, South Africa and Togo. His music is a blend of western and African traditions while his vocal style is influenced by the praise singers (musical story-tellers) of his native Ashanti. 18.30.
