Accra continues national identification drive

After long delays, the nationwide registration drive coordinated by the National Identification Authority (NIA) for the issue of national identity cards is finally in full swing in the Greater Accra region. Operations should run until mid-February, after which attention will turn to the central Ashanti region.

Registration is open to all people aged six and over. Those wanting to register must go to their nearest registration centre with a valid form of personal identification such as a baptism certificate, birth certificate, birth weighing card, voter ID card, passport, driver
