The South Africa based discount retailer of general merchandise, Game Stores, has opened an outlet in the Ghanaian capital. Located in the Accra Shopping Mall on Spintex Road, Tetteh Quarshie Circle, the store stocks locally manufactured products including health and beauty products, confectionery, stationery, furniture and cleaning products. It currently employs 120 people, of whom 116 are Ghanaian, and is expected to contribute $87 million to the local economy over the next ten years. Game Store counts 81 outlets in South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Uganda, Mozambique, Mauritius, Malawi, Tanzania, Nigeria and now Ghana and is a subsidiary of the wholesale and retail group Massmart.
