Government overhauls energy sector.

The federal government has announced plans to end subsidies on gasoline and other petroleum products, which cost the country N640 billion last year alone. The move is part of a package of measures to reduce spending in light of the global recession. Other plans under consideration include privatising the four state-owned refineries in the country to improve efficiency in the energy processing sector, which would in turn reduce Nigeria
