As political tension rises again in Kenya the parliamentary speaker Kenneth Marende has decided to chair the house business committee (HBC) on an interim basis.

The decision comes after prime minister Raila Odinga of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and vice president Kalonzo Musyoka of ODM-Kenya, a party close to president Mwai Kibaki
