Nigerian schools close for voter registration
All primary and secondary schools in Nigeria are to close for a voter registration exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) between 15 January and 4 February 2011. However final year secondary school students preparing for their examination are expected to receive education as normal.
The federal government directive has sparked criticism across the country and has been condemned by parents and teachers
