Nearly 300 Ethiopian journalists and other professionals are to receive training in reporting on childrens issues under a two-year programme coordinated by the graduate school of journalism and communication of state-run Addis Ababa University and Save the Children-Denmark. Entitled Promoting the rights of children by building the capacity of media, the scheme aims to familiarise participants with the rights of children and youth, as well as giving non-media professionals specific journalistic skills. The first round of training begins in April 2006 and around 50 people will be taking part.
