Conservationists have called on Mozambicans to help protect marine turtles, which are under increasing pressure from human activities in the country. Specific dangers faced by these reptiles include accidental capture in fishing nets and deliberate hunting for their meat, eggs or shell, as well as construction in their traditional nesting areas along the coast.
