A multi-purpose youth centre is under construction in the Kolfe-Keranyo sub-city beyond the ring road in western Addis Ababa, state-run newspaper Ethiopian Herald reports. The centre, which will be built at a cost of 15 million birr, to be provided by the local authorities, will contain a college, cinema and other facilities. Speaking at the ground-breaking ceremony in mid November, leader of the caretaker city government Berhane Deressa called for similar projects to be carried out in other parts of the city. There is no indication of when construction will be complete.
