Cape Town’s Desmond Tutu to retire from public life
Desmond Tutu, Anglican archbishop emeritus of Cape Town and 1984 Nobel peace laureate, has announced that he will be withdrawing from public life starting later this year in order to spend more time with his family.
The dynamic 78-year-old bishop has said that he will be scaling back his public commitments from October 2010 before retiring completely in February 2011.
