Mozambique is to receive a $21.1 million loan from the United Nations International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) to support its artisanal fishing industry. The purpose of the loan is to persuade fishing families to use new techniques and to diversify the areas where they fish, even going into deeper water. IFAD claims that the loan will benefit about 40,000 families directly and another 40,000 indirectly.
