2006 Women First 5km run.

5 March 2006. The third edition of the women-only five-kilometre run, organised by the Great Ethiopian Run to draw attention to the achievements of and problems facing Ethiopian women. Up to 8,000 people are expected to take part in the race, which begins and ends at the Atlas Hotel between Urael Church and Bole Telecom. Registration costs 20 birr for individuals and 15 birr per participant for groups of 20 and over. Registration is at Dembel City Center (Bole) or Dashen Bank (Mercato), or at the Great Ethiopian Run headquarters at Alem Building (Bole) for groups of 20 or more. This year the run is publicizing the message What if women decided for themselves?. Participants must assemble at 08.00 for a 09.00 start.
