1-15 Aug 2008. Over 40 African and international authors gather for the fourth edition of the annual literature festival organised by the Kwani Trust. In light of the recent post-election violence in Kenya this year the festival will focus on the role of writers in conflict and post-conflict situations. The programme features panel discussions, readings, book launches, literary lunches, cultural tours and performances among other things. Participants include Nigerian prize-winning author Chimamanda Adichie, former child soldier and writer from Sierra Leone Ishmael Beah, prize-winning Kenyan author and founding editor of
