4-8 May 2008. Nigerian and African films take centre stage in the biennial film festival organised by the Nigerian Film Corporation in the capital Abuja. Films fall into two sections: competitive, for films or videos by Nigerian directors working in Nigeria or abroad; and non-competitive, including films about Nigeria, non-African films and retrospectives and tributes. There is also a film and video market/exhibition, FilmX, of audio-visual products and technologies from Nigeria and abroad. For programme details see the festival website.
