8-23 April 2011. Phoenix Theatre performs a drama by John Pielmeier, directed by Nick Njache and stars Crystal Mbuga, Lydia Nyambura and Angela Mwandia.

This play tells the story of a novice nun, Agnes of God, who conceives and gives birth to a dead child in a convent. Agnes insists that the dead child was the result of a virgin conception.

Dr. Livingstone, a court-appointed psychiatrist, is asked to determine the sanity of Agnes, accused of murdering her own baby. The Mother Superior seems bent on protecting Sister Agnes from Livingstone whose suspicions are immediately aroused. In searching for solutions to various mysteries the psychiatrist forces the protagonists of solving some harsh realities in their own lives.
