1 July 2011. Goethe Insitut launches the book A Place of Beautiful Nonsense by Alba K. Sumprim, who will read some extracts to the public. Sumprim lives in Accra, where she is regularly accused of being Senegalese, Malian, Ivorian, Liberian, Kenya or Zimbabwean, in fact, any other nationality but Ghanaian, while she defines herself an imported Ghanaian.
For ten years she has run a very successful weekly social commentary column in The Daily Dispatch newspaper in Accra.
The book launch will be followed by some poetry, music, comedy, spoken word, a photo exhibition and a tilapia and palmwine afterparty.
Event starts at 17.00.
