Cape Town international dance festival

International dance festival features socially relevant contemporary works.

23 Nov-6 Dec. Dancers from seven countries and 12 dance companies perform at Cape Town's first international dance festival organised by iKapa Dance Theatre, South African's contemporary dance company. There are also workshops, film screenings and exhibitions and the festival will mark World AIDS Day and the International Day of Disabled People.

The festival presents a number of projects under the heading Cultures Connect; Future Stage, To the Township, Migration Stage; Africa to China; Dance for Health; Melting Pot; Proudly Cape Town. Many of the performances are at the Artscape Theatre.

ikapa Dance Theatre is dedicated to the creation of socially relevant contemporary works, youth development and programmes for under-privileged communities. For the full programme see the iKapa website.
