Ghana Dance Festival

1-30 Sept. The third edition of the annual Ghana Dance Festival takes place throughout September, with performers staging a grand opening at the Osu Oxford Street Mall in Accra on 1 September. 

There are 16 dance events features local and international dance groups, divided into weekly programmes. The first week is dedicated to ballroom, the second week hosts the Afro-Latin Congress (Salsa, Kizomba, Bachata, Tango, Chacha), week three features street and praise dance styles, the fourth week is devoted to folkdance and performing arts, and the festival ends on week five with Dance Battle and Sports. In addition to the weekly programme of dance events there are seminars for professional dancers.

The annual festival was founded in 2015 to promote dance as a creative arts discipline, and is supported by the National Commission on Culture and Creative Arts. For more details see Facebook page.
