27 Feb. Pride March and Mardi Gras Festival.
The highlight of Gay Pride festival in Cape Town is the Pride March on Saturday 27 February from Gallows Hill and ending at the parking area in Vlei Road. The starting time is 12.00.
The march follows a week of events and celebrations including sport, movies, workshops, fashion shows and parties. This year the organisers dropped Gay from the title as it was considered exclusive of other member of the LGBTI+ communities.
The event has often come under fire for representing only white men and therefore this year is making a special effort to be all inclusive.
