7-28 July 2007. The GoDown arts centre presents a series of one-day arts festivals in four different informal settlements in Nairobi in July. Prior to each Saturday event members of the Sarakasi acrobat troupe, Kunja dance group and Taffi dancers among others will hold workshops with local artists and performers. On 21 July the festival will be at the Laini Saba/Amref Grounds in the Mathare slum in northeast Nairobi. The following Saturday it will move to Mukuru in the east, where the action will be centred around Hope World Wide Centre. Entry free of charge. 14.00.
