Founded in 1989, the charity Ethiopiaid aims to create positive and lasting change in Ethiopia by tackling the problems of poverty, ill health and poor education by donating directly to local community projects. To raise funds they are organising a sponsored hiking expedition this November to the Simien mountains; this includes climbing the summit of Ras Dejen (4,620 m), the highest point in Ethiopia and the fourth highest peak in the African continent.
