2-15 Mar. Find the Art Trench features a series of works by the Ugandan artist Hassan Mukiibi.
Mukiibi is specialized in printmaking, painting and tie and dye. His art is conceived as a cure for children traumatised by war and to give hope to those affected by AIDS and HIV, as well as mentally and physically handicapped people. He currently works as a volunteer art therapist for the Let Art Talk Organization (www.letarttalk.org) in several organisations, including the Makerere Institute of the Infectious diseases (IDI) at the Mulago Hospital and at the Butabika Hospital in northern Uganda. In the past he also worked as a volunteer for Margaret Trowel School of industrial and fine arts where he helped the local community with an artistic project to encourage people’s capacities and development.
