21 Nov 2010. Roughly 35,000 people are expected to take part in the annual international ten-kilometre run in Addis Ababa, which this year celebrates its tenth edition. As per tradition, the race is preceded on 20 Nov by a series of races for children.
Great Ethiopian Run is an independent non-governmental organisation founded in 2001 to stage mass-participation athletic competitions in the country. One of its leading ambassadors is veteran Ethiopian long-distance runner Haile Gebrselassie.
