28 Feb 2010. The eighth edition of the annual Kilimanjaro Marathon begins as usual from the town of Moshi in northern Tanzania. In addition to the standard 42.2 km marathon there is also a 21.1 km half marathon. Both events begin and end at Moshi stadium and involve a gradual climb to Mweka on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. The marathon is supported by the Tanzania Tourist Board, the Tanzania Amateur Athletics Association and the International Association of Athletics Federations and typically attracts runners from Tanzania, Kenya and beyond.
