Matatu Project in Movement

7 Dec-15 Jan. The Matatu Project in Movement is an exhibition by the Kenyan artist Dennis Muraguri, inspired by the famous Nairobi Public Service Vehicles, such as matatus, buses and human transporters. Muraguri brings together a series of new wood cuts inspired by matatus. On this occasion the Nashio Workshop Nairobi, an arts initiative unit by Yoshinari Nishio, Sakiko Nishio and David Wagude in collaboration with Jua Kali artisans, display their new public art project “Bebabebag”, which consists of unique-shaped bags made from the very same materials used for seat covers in matatus.
