Rainbow Scars

24 April-11 May. This play, entitled Rainbow Scars and written by Mike van Graan, pays homage to the “Rainbow Nation”. It explores in a humourous way the complexities of contemporary South Africa. In the national spirit of reconciliation, Ellen Robinson, a suburban mother, decided to adopt Lindiwe, an orphan who lost her parents in the “new” South Africa. In 2012, which was the centenary of the founding of the African National Congress (ANC), something unusual happened, which brought to the surface old wounds, and scars.
