20-26 May 2006. This is the first edition of an annual film festival in Accra dedicated to documentary films exploring the history, people and places of Africa and the African diaspora. The programme includes the sections Africa-in all its regions, the African diaspora, world cinema and student films, comprising entries from students at Ghanas National Film and Television Institute and New York University. There will also be a related photographic exhibition on pan-African subjects. The festival marks the inauguration of the West African Documentary Forum, which aims to produce and document knowledge on contemporary African and African diasporic issues through film.
