Uirapuru by Iván Navarro & Courtney Smith

This exhibition, entitled Uirapuru, features a series of short videos by the Brooklyn based sculptors Iván Navarro and Courtney Smith. On screen are five short videos, which refer to the trajectories and circuits of anonymous characters moving through urban space. Navarro and Smith mainly work independently and then occasionally come together. Smith is known for her furniture-based sculptures, which analyse the physical and psychological construction of interior spaces through the deconstruction of the elements that inhabit them. Navarro is acclaimed for his innovative work on the complex implications of transformation and transference of electrical energy through his crafted luminous sculpture.
