8-11 Oct 2009. The Visa 2 Dance festival aims to develop contemporary dance in Tanzania through workshops, exchange forums and performances by internationally renowned dance troupes from Europe as well as central and northern African countries. Festival organizers, who include Mionzi Dance Theatre, Flusso dance project and Mawazo Gallery, have worked together closely to realise a series of events which they hope will reinforce dance skills in Tanzania and forge artistic bonds which transcend cultural and geographical borders. In addition to the dance festival, an event which promises hip hop and poetry takes place on 31 October in Dar es Salaam's Diamond Jubilee VIP Hall.
