Vehicles in Dar es Salam are slowing to a halt as filling stations run out of petrol. Oil companies are refusing to re-supply service stations in protest against government-imposed cuts of 9.17 per cent in fuel prices.

The regulatory agency, Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Agency (EWURA), which has ordered the price cuts, said that it would make sure deliveries started again at the end of the first week in August but BP it still not refueling its distributors.

Road transport throughout the country as well as the tourist industry are being affected by the price dispute.
