Egypt to host 2009 U-20s football world cup.

Egypt is to host the FIFA U-20 world cup, or the biennial world championship of association football for male players aged under 20, in 2009. The provisional dates for the tournament are 10-13 July.

Nigeria will be hosting the FIFA U-17s world cup from 24 October to 15 November the same year.

In the 2007 U-20 world cup, held in Canada, Argentina won its second consecutive title, beating the Czech Republic in the final 2-1. Egypt, which earlier this year clinched the African Cup of Nations title for the second time running, has never won the U-20 tournament.
