The municipal swimming pool in Washington Street in Langa township on the Cape Flats is to get a facelift before opening for the summer season. The 250,000 rand project involves sealing the walls, paving the area around the pool and installing a ramp and toilet facilities for the disabled. The duration of the works depends on the weather as the fibre used in the sealing process can only be applied when it is not raining. However, the city council hopes the overhaul will be finished by the end of October, one month after the opening of the summer season at the other municipal pools.
