Mozambique airlines (LAM) is to increase the cost of domestic flights by ten per cent in response to the rising cost of jet fuel. In a statement the national flag carrier said fuel costs rose from 35 to 50 per cent of its overheads in the first half of the year.

LAM has also announced the suspension of flights on less popular routes, a reduction in the number of promotional tickets and a five-dollar surcharge on regional flights.
