A new cargo complex is to be built in Murtala Mohammed international airport in Lagos. In plans announced by the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company (NAHCO), the project will provide sufficient space warehousing as well as the requirements of the cargo hauliers who have long complained of lack of facilities.

The airport, which in the past made international headlines for lack of security and corruption, has recently made efforts to restore its reputation. The new compound will have closed-circuit television cameras throughout the area.

The project, which will cost approximately N1.2 billion and will be funded by capital investment, is due to be completed within 7 months.
