Air France has launched seasonal direct flights between Cape Town and Paris.

The French company said it would consider extending the service all year-round if there is consistent demand throughout the summer season.

Swiss airline Edelwiss Air also launched direct flights between Cape Town and Zurich.

There are now 17 international air carriers offering direct flights to Cape Town, which has an average number of 12 international flights a day
