2-14 May 2006. The Foundation For Contemporary Art Ghana (FCA) presents an exhibition and sale of work by local contemporary artists inspired by the cities of Accra and Kumasi, capital of the Ashanti region roughly 250 km northwest of Accra. Works are all 40 x 40 cm and priced 1,300,000 Cedis, of which 300,000 Cedis will go to FCA to support its work in promoting the visual arts. Part of the European Union week programme, the exhibition will be opened by the European ambassador Filiberto Ceriani-Sebregondi, the German ambassador Peter Linder and the minister for tourism and modernisation of Accra Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey. Inauguration 2 May 19.30. Entrance free. After showing in Accra the exhibition will be hosted by the Alliance Franaise in Kumasi 17-24 May.
